Not only do they allow you to stash life-saving devices in a place close to hand, but they are also helping to raise funds to fight HIV/AIDS.
This might explain why they are so federating, drawing an all-vibrant and multicultural crowd coming from the most eclectic websites: fashion sites, fair trade sites, South African sites, Swedish good-living sites, fit guys sites, straight fit guys sites (yeah right), sex carnival websites, and others I wouldn’t want to type because I get lost in the number of Xs in them.

Though most readers are informed enough about the content of the pocket (a fairly traded condom brought by our friends at French Letter), it is also worth comforting their feeling of good-doing by reminding them that for each pair bought, £1 goes to Treatment Action Campaign. TAC are South Africa’s pioneering movement for equal access to information and treatment, in a country where poverty and AIDS are closely linked. The partnership between TAC and Pants to Poverty is good news, so why not learn all about it from… The South Africa Good News!

To mark ten years since 70,000 people formed a human chain around the city sparking a new phase in fighting poverty, we launched our new range of purely natural pants in Birmingham with our first Pant flash there. The weather, so often our friend til now, was against us but amazingly, thanks to the stunt and through the media, we managed to reach over 3.5 million people!! We annihilated our previous media record!!

We all met, bright and early in the pub and then bounced into the same building whee the G8 met ten years ago! After the necessary panting around and being surrounded by banks of media, we then returned to the walkabout pub and let the day gradually fade away! Amazing!

A massive thankyou to all who came along and had the “best way to spend a Saturday ever!”. We’ll be doing it all again soon and this time we will set the record!! If you want to get involved, contact us through the web form!!

We went to the Isle of White Festival with Oxfam to support them with their inspirationally named campaign “what gets your knickers in a twist!?”… so we shared their tent and set a new world record… nice one.

Just the night before, the wombats got their hands on some good pants with the first glimpse of the new festival of colours range… launching at Glastonbury.. where we’ll be with Oxfam again and we reckon we’ll destroy the world record this time… if you’re coming to glasto.. remember to come find us at the Oxfam tent in your good pants!!! time tbc just yet!

Well hello there pants lovers! As the summer is here we want to celebrate with a new competition for you to meet, and party with, the lovely people who make our gorgeous pants!

To support our mission to rid the world of bad pants, we want you to get creative, inspiring and liberate the power in your pants to enter our competition for “BEST PHOTO IN YOUR PANTS!”

We’ll be running the c0mpetition through facebook where photos can be uploaded and voted on to choose the winner (announced in October 2008). For a photo to be eligible for the competition, it has to meet the following simple criteria:

1. Should be legal: we can’t promote breaking the law now can we?!
2. Should represent our mission to rid the world of bad pants and be promoting good pants (fairtrade and organic pants).
3. Should have the particiPANT’s email sent to info@pantstopoverty.com

Ideally we’d love you to be in a pair of our spectacular pants¦ but we can’t force them onto you. You know you can buy great pants, here though obviously!

The tribal farmers we’ll be partying with want to pant with you as they are now able to sell fairtrade, organic cotton at a fair price, and it’s changed their lives! Come join them, and they might just change yours!

Join Pants to Poverty in this first-ever Guinness World Records attempt for the most people ever gathered in their underpants! At 9.30am on Thursday, 13th November (Guinness World Records Day), the World’s media will be waiting for us at 10am in the new St Pancras International train station as we make history in our pants!

Hundreds of people from across the country have signed up already so join us to seize this once in a lifetime opportunity to liberate the power in your pants!

How the Stunt will work:

- Pant Lovers meet at 9.30am on Thursday 13th November (Guinness World Record day) at The Betjeman Arms, a pub inside the new St Pancras International train station, on the Upper Concourse.

- Free pairs of fairtrade, organic pants and a free shot of whiskey distributed to all!

- Pant Flash mob mobilise into the station by 10.30, in time for the media frenzy!

- Back to pub, bar re-opens.

Everyone involved will receive an official Guinness World Records™ certificate and they will also receive a free pair of Pants to Poverty’s fairtrade and organic pants. And if that wasn’t enough enticement, free whiskey and bacon butties will be provided to warm you up before the stunt!
