Case Study
The Journey From Grain to Groin
To make just one pair of pants takes a whole cotton plant, using 1m2 of soil, 8 months to grow the 300g of cotton needed! Turning raw cotton into your pants is a really complicated process and has seven different stages. We now know about all the stuff about them being good pants and not bad pants. But what actually happens to your cash? We can only guess what happens to the money you spend on your bad pants. But with good pants we want you to know! After all, good pants are transparent pants!
This is where your money goes:
Farmer - 10.5p
Factory - £1.13
Transport - 34p
Indian Government - 20p
Administration - 42.5p
Pants to Poverty - £2.96
Ethical Outlets - £3.08
UK Government - £1.76
If you buy your pants here then we are the ethical outlet! Otherwise, you can be sure that the shops you find our pants are doing there best to support fair and organic trade and bring honour back to business! All the money that we make goes towards our work to rid the world of bad pants whether that’s design, campaigns or running costs so you can be sure every penny spent is bulding solutions not problems and searching for answers not hiding from them! We’re off to India in March to travel right from grain to groin, are in the midst of making a film about the journey our good pants go on and so much more! So keep your eyes peeled here for more exciting info!
